EP - 15 Anaïs Quemener, from the fight against cancer to first place!

Need a dose of motivation and inspiration?

Let me reintroduce you to Anaïs Quemener

(or introduce her to you if you've been living in a cave for the past few years)!

Anaïs was born in 1991, in Tremblay-en-France.

A little girl with dreams as big as the sky, she discovered her passion for running at the age of 7, and was coached by her father! Her first steps into the world of competition were modest, but promising.

But while a great career awaits her, Anaïs is faced with a challenge that changes her life forever...

The challenge

At just 24 years old, she received a devastating diagnosis: breast cancer . For a young woman full of life and ambition, it was a brutal blow.

Courageous and determined, she embarks on a battle against the disease. Despite aggressive treatments, surgeries, and uncertainties, Anaïs continues to run.

"I continued running after each chemotherapy, during radiotherapy and quickly after my operations as soon as I could resume sport."

After her first chemo, she runs 8 km.

After the 2nd, 10 km.

After the 4th, 100 km by bike.

🤩

Every step is an act of resistance, a challenge to his illness.

Finally, after months of fierce struggle, Anaïs emerges victorious. Cancer has failed to break her indomitable spirit.

The consecration

And there, it is the apotheosis.

Anaïs, the little girl with humble beginnings, becomes a true living legend. She transforms her struggle into a true epic, a story of self-improvement and triumph over adversity. And this is just the beginning. Her career is just taking off.

Just imagine: in 2016, she won the French marathon champion title (just 1 year after her cancer diagnosis!). But wait, that's just the beginning! In 2022, she did it again! Like, two-time French champion, not bad, right?

She has truly raised her banner among the greats of this sport.

And that's not all! She goes all the way to Berlin and breaks her own personal best: 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 1 second!

But wait, it's not over yet! Anaïs doesn't limit herself to marathons; she's won the Ecotrail twice. A full 30 kilometers, proving she's just as comfortable on the road as she is in the wilderness!

And of course, all this while working as a night nurse on the side! But how does she do it!?

  • From 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. she works at the hospital.
  • She walks 10 km to get home.
  • Then run or cycle 10 km.
  • She sleeps 4 to 5 hours before returning to training.
  • And at 9 p.m., it's the same old story: she puts on her scrubs and begins another night as a nursing assistant.

What a queen! 👸🏻

The inspiration

And you know what? It's not just about medals. It's the story of a girl who never takes a break when it comes to making her dreams come true. The story of a fighter who shows the world that anything is possible when you truly believe in it.

Now she shines like a star in the sporting sky. But to us, she is much more than a champion.

She reminds us that nothing is impossible when you put your heart and soul into it.

And frankly, who knows what else she has in store for us?
