How to stay hydrated during a trail run?
Running is good, but running without ending up as a dried-up prune is better!
- Before the race: Aim for a minimum of 1.5 liters of water per day. Hydration is the key to success.
- During the race: Drink 2-3 sips every 15 minutes, even if you're not thirsty. Use a soft flask, which is easy to fill and carry in your Artemis bag.
- What to drink: Water and sports drinks for the electrolytes and carbohydrates needed to avoid hypoglycemia.
- After the race: Drink plenty of water and choose drinks rich in minerals and carbohydrates to recover.
